For Fall Winter 2010-2011, Closed has teamed up with highly regarded menswear label, Garbstore [www.garbstore.com] in the UK. They have produced a carefully edited capsule collection of key unisex pieces that captures the DNA of both brands.
Garbstore’s collections are globally coveted by authentic clothing aficionados. They like to refer to them as ‘Unfamiliar Vintage’ – taking post WW2 garments as the starting point, staple wardrobe items are re-imagined with a close eye for period detail into historically new pieces.
This approach harmonises well with Closed’s interest in workwear basics that are updated for the contemporary market. Presented during the 77th edition of Pitti Uomo, Florence, the collaboration pairs the strongest characteristics of both labels. Piece dyed chinos from Closed mix with heavy gauge Japanese sweatshirting. Marled cotton tee’s in muted tones combine well with Garbstore’s canvas parka, lined in plaid wool. Every piece features a unique leather tag, depicting the collection ID and each company logo.
The Garbstore Closed collection will be distributed through existing retail channels and online from August 2010.
